The song comes from her second studio album, “The Teaches of Peaches” and has endured for over twenty years not only because of its dirty bass and beat, but because the message behind the provocative lyrics ring as true today in 2022 as they did in 2000.

How often do we find ourselves managing the stressors of our troubles by turning to sex? It is a pleasurable release that can be as therapeutic as it can be escapist at best, destructive at worst.

So how do we ensure we remain sex-positive, rather than sex-shamed? By finding those who fulfill and compliment our needs, our desires, our pains. Hierarchy can be that for many, and in service, we find a place where take back our agency, herald our worth, and give a middle finger to the puritanical limitations of “polite society”.
